Tonge Fold Public Art

Kate led a consultation and design process worked with community representatives in collaboration with East Bolton Regeneration and engineers from the Highways and Lighting departments of Bolton Council. The Chrysalis Arts project created a free-standing stainless steel sculpture representing an oak leaf, the meeting of two rivers, and including LED lighting with a 24 minute cycle colour change programme representing the four seasons. Artwork was also developed for the adjacent chapel wall on the rivers and oak leaf theme and incorporating references to Tonge Fold’s history and the chapel windows.
